I’m busy “de-constructing” the top tips and will have my take and adding specific additional and, of course, Ripping Off The Boss!
It turns out that Andy, Mike, and I are all very much on the same page when it comes to how to create marketing videos that don’t suck. In fact, I ve been teaching (and preaching) almost ALL of the same strategies for the last five years!
Here are several of the main points I’d like to begin highlighting:
1. Sloppy videos just DON’T cut it anymore! Remember one of my main taglines? “Friends Don’t Let Friends Make Crappy Videos!”
2. I ALWAYS create a script. The Message Is The Master…
3. Audio is a HUGE part of your video. If your audio (and narration) stink…your video is doomed.
I’m going to let Andy and Mike handle the video camera stuff and add some value by offering a new method I am now using to create very tight, well planned, visually engaging “presentation style” video content.
Check out this method for recording PowerPoint slides as video and let me know what you think:
This method does require PowerPoint 2010 or higher. Also, if you don’t have the Audacity Audio Editor, you can get it here for free:
One of the things I “dislike” about Camtasia and PowerPoint videos? Check them out here:
It was becoming much too complicated. And if it isn’t too complicated for some people, it’s still definitely too time consuming.
You had to worry about the following:
Redoing videos over and over again to make sure you got everything right in one take or face the daunting task of loading your raw video into Camtasia or another editor to make everything perfect.
Making sure your videos were optimized for the web (So they looked good and didn’t take too long to start playing).
Having a different mobile version of your videos to show users of iPhone, iPad, Android and other mobile devices (More and more people are doing most of the web viewing from their smart phones and other mobile devices).
Basically using “duct-tape” to try and put all the pieces together with Camtasia, Screenflow, Jing, Handbrake while continually looking for the “perfect” solution to make it all easier or less time consuming.
Uploading large files to your own server, Youtube, Amazon S3 or other video hosting service.
Getting the proper code in place to display your videos with the hope that mobile devices would be able to see the mobile version of your video.
Well, someone has finally done something about it.
Josh Bartlett, the creator of the industries leading video player called Easy Video Player, has truly done something innovative in video marketing.
His Easy Video Player software had game-changing features two years ago that other video marketing solutions have just recently tried to introduce.
And on top of that, Josh could boast about the following:
Tens of thousands of satisfied customers.
The lowest refund rate in the industry for Clickbank (Only 2%).
More top marketers and 6 to 7 figure launches use Easy Video Player than anything else. (Mike Filsaime, Chris Farrel, Ryan Deiss, Jason Moffatt, Maria Andros, Justin Brooketo name a few).
Rather than throw in a few, new and “cool” features and re-launch his product simply for the money, he listened to his customers and did something else.
He took over two years and hundreds of thousands of his own dollars to create something that will change the way you market your business with videos.
You’ll now be able to record, edit, publish, market and track all your videos with one, easy-to-use solution.
Josh is releasing this all-in-one video marketing solution on January 15th, 2013 with a free video series leading up to the launch.
He’s going to reveal the story about his journey and passion that led him to spend hundreds of thousands of dollars from his own pocket to create the ultimate video marketing solution.
And how you can now do the following:
Drag and drop your video into a desktop application (Mac and Pc Compatible) that will optimize and convert your video for the web, let you edit if needed, upload it and give you the code to copy and paste to your website.
Record your screen or face camera from within this application and even draw on the screen.
Never worry about whether users on mobile devices can see your videos (It creates and displays a mobile version of your videos for you).
Split test your videos to see which ones are shared the most, have the most engagement and which versions make the most money.
That’s just scratching the surface…
What all this ultimately means for you is that marketing your business with videos is going to be much, much easier.
And you’ll make a ton more money while having more time to do what you love.
Josh is also going to demonstrate the amazing power of his creation in this series.
Every component of them from the PowerPoint presentations to a final edited recording of the event are solid gold content. Everything I am currently adding to my bottom line comes from them…
I was been looking for an automated way to leverage them for over a year and I evaluated every system I can find. I decidedon the Evergreen Business System (EBS) last November and have been using it since Janurary 2012.See the details of the product and a complete demo and Comparison Chart to competitors HERE:
I see a LOT of people creating these 30 second special effects extravaganzas for Camtasia “Intro” clips. While these are fun ‘n’ all, they probably don’t help your video marketing cause as much as one might think.
Let’s keep things simple and SHORT!
Nobody cares about a flashy Flash splash clip…at least not as much as they just want to get on with the video content!
Here’s a little PowerPoint template and tutorial with a clean, simply, and elegant way to quickly introduce the topic of your video:
Just make your text modifications, adjust the bracket path if necessary and then use our standard Slide Show -> Record Slide Show method to record the action.
Once that’s done (in PowerPoint 2010), do a File -> Save & Send -> Create Video and export your cool Intro which will create a WMV video file you can drop right into Camtasia.
Love to hear your thoughts so leave a comment!
This template and tutorial is from one of my Screencast Coaching Webinars. I don wanna brag but…if you can find a more kick butt weekly coaching webinar with more useful stuff at this stupid low price? Jump on it…oh, and let me know what it is ’cause I want it too!
Youtube! The undisputed king of video content delivery and friend of every video marketer. We all know the amazing stats YouTube is producing and the traffic records it is setting everyday. It’s the #2 search engine on the planet and if you create video content, this is where you can get found and watched.
That’s all great but how do you make sure you are doing it right? Easy. Learn from the best!
There is only ONE training course you need to be able to milk YouTube for all it’s worth:
While I keep up with what most video creators are doing, I can count the ones I follow and listen to on one hand. I don’t follow many “marketing” gurus because most of them don’t impress me much. And when there is someone who makes BOTH those lists in my book? Well…I pay close attention and…I rip them off!
Andy Jenkins is a guy with mad video skills AND one of the smartest marketers around. I highly suggest you watch his latest video below and study it like I did. When you are finished, we’ll take a look at some key video tricks and rip ‘em off!
WARNING: Yes, this video has no player controls and you can’t even Pause it (WTH?) so set aside about 18 minutes. It’s well worth it. Also, do NOT move your mouse outside your browser or you will be “Exit Popped” out of watching the video (WTH again!):
I’ve started my in-depth analysis of the best tips & tactics that can be “borrowed” from this excellent work. These clips are from my weekly Screencast Coaching webinar sessions. Let’s get started:
Coordinated Color “Pop” and the “Push List” Effect
I love the tactics and effects above but, of course, I’ve got a FREE TEMPLATE for you in this one:
I just found out that Sparkol (the makers of VideoScribe) are having a “Back To School” Special through the end of August. I also learned that they will be raising their prices a bit for both the monthly and annual subscriptions.
Warning: Illegal string offset 'enable_postoptin_override' in /home/screenca/public_html/blog/wp-content/plugins/premium-list-magnet/plm.php on line 968
I love making video training products, sales & marketing videos, great tutorial videos to help all you fine folks…
But I HATE building websites to sell my video training courses!
Even with WordPress as the platform, it’s always such a chore to “duct tape” everything together. Themes, pages, membership areas, payment processing, plugins, social media capabilities and sharing, hosting on cloud servers…geeze!
I’ve been looking for a solution for quite a few years. I really liked the Kajabi platform when it came out but it is just so frickin’ expensive! I cancelled it almost immediately…
Earlier this year I found and bought what I think is finally going to be what I need to get sites up quick & easy:
Here’s an impromptu look at what it is from my weekly screencast coaching webinar:
FOR A LIMITED TIME (until July 12th, 2012), you can get the same system I have including UNLIMITED sites and some big bonuses.
5. You will then be able to watch the good stuff WITH player controls so you can Pause, Rewind, etc.
Don’t you just hate videos with no controls?? I do…
Anyway…I wanted to give you a heads up on this because of the limited time offer. I’m currently building some sites with it to market some of the TONS of products I own resell rights to but was too lazy to get them up and going.
I think it’s worth noting that what I’m getting is really the things I don’t need to now worry about:
Pretty good list…
I’m recommending that even if you think you can use this, grab it.
If you don’t like it…get a full refund!
Let me know what you think or if you have any questions.
One of the cool new features in Camtasia Studio 8 is the ability to have multiple video tracks. Finally!
What does that buy you?
For one thing, you can now “layer” video clips on top of each other. If you have effects video clips from Digital Juice or VideoHive.net that have “keyed” or “alpha” transparency, it means that the background of these clips is invisible…thus allowing whatever content or effect that is in the clip to appear on top of the content of the track(s) underneath.
I found a BIG package of these kinds of effects in a Warrior Special Offer (WSO) for a stupid low price. I whipped up this little video in about 10 minutes to show just a few of them:
Since it’s a WSO, I’m not sure how long you can get this package for just $17:
Remember…this ONLY WORKS IN CAMTASIA 8 – not previous versions…
A couple more notes:
I usually find that WSO’s are complete crap. One shining area however is graphics and creatives. You can often get great packages for a steal. This WSO product is not perfect…but there is enough content that I was able to find a bunch of actually useful stuff. For $17? It was a no-brainer for me.
To use the “transparency” clips in Camtasia 8, the .MOV versions are the ones you want.
The product has multiple versions of most clips. Some with backgrounds, some without, and even some WMV versions you could drop into PowerPoint and use on slides.
These are special effects…do NOT over use these…please!! lol…
